A Year of Bento - Lunchbox Photos for Educational Use

(0)
In Japan there is a tradition that the mothers of children of kindergarten age provide their children with a lunchbox two or three times a week to take with them to school. Usually, these are made early in the morning along with breakfast. A lot of effort goes into making a tasty, nutritious and visually appealing meal that will be put into a small lunchbox called a ‘bento’, which is then wrapped in a colorful cloth napkin. The images in this pack can be used with classes of all ages and backgrounds, and in different ways according to the teacher’s skills and inclinations. Following is a list of the contents and some possible uses. 1. A set of 50 high quality JPEG images that can be printed out for use in games and tasks of many kinds. 2. A 14 page PDF document of the same images grouped into sets of 4 that can be used for bingo, matching or comparison type games. 3. A Powerpoint 14 slide presentation of the same 4 grouped images for demonstration purposes, or classroom quizzes. There are sample questions in the notes section of each slide, which are aimed at kindergarten/elementary level, but can be altered to suit the level of the class. 4. A Keynote presentation for Mac or iPad users, which contains the same 14 slides and information as the Powerpoint. All the images in this pack are copyrighted for personal and educational use.

Aviation History 1 - Triumph and Disaster

(0)
Two important events from the early years of aviation history. The triumph of Lindbergh's crossing of the Atlantic which triggered the massive growth of the aviation industry and the later disaster of the Hindenburg which signaled the end of the giant zeppelin's as a viable form of air transport. Both are presented in an engaging comic book format and contain quizzes, worksheets and links to useful videos and other sources of information. There is a need in literature and history classes to evaluate content presented in different media formats including visually and aurally.' I believe that comics and graphic novels can fulfill this standard and I hope you find this product an engaging way of teaching your students. 76 pages Contents; 1. PDF color versions of each comic with a quiz for comprehension at the end. These can be printed out or displayed as slideshows on a computer or used as e.books on a tablet. 2. The same eleven page PDF comic books in lo-res format for easy printing. 3. A student print that has a section for dictionary work and an exercise for practicing some of the more difficult words in the comic. 4. A student answer print for the comic quizzes and dictionary tasks. 5. Two writing prompts to extend each lesson. 5. A teacher's notes print for each that provides directions on using the comics and useful links to sites including film archives about Lindbergh's historic achievement and the Hindenburg disaster. All prints are in PDF format.
